Sunday the 13th was really my Dad's birthday, but he and my Mom were traveling back from a short visit to Indiana. Yesterday we got together with my parents and Julie, Kevin, and Isabelle. We all went to the Science Center, out to eat at Granite City, and then back to Julie's for cake and presents.

This mischievous leprechaun has been coming in our house each night and has been playing tricks on us! Below you will see some pictures of the leprechaun trap we made (thanks again Family Fun magazine) and the kids getting the trap ready. Each night we prepare the trap in hopes of catching this tricky little guy. Here's a little insight as to what has happened each night:
Sunday night:
-We set the trap with Lucky Charms cereal. When we woke up the cereal as gone and in it's place was a note written on a shamrock with a riddle. The leprechaun sent the kids around the house searching for their first gift (stickers) that were hidden on top of a light. He also left little green footprints on some mirrors around our house, in the fridge, and even on the milk jug.
Monday night:
-We set the trap again, but this time the kids put a piece of gold on top hoping to "really" catch him this time. No luck again! When we woke up this morning, this leprechaun had been very sneaky. There were footprints on the kid's dressers, on their lamps, and on their hands. Can you believe he'd been walking on their hands? He also turned the toilet water green and had tilted various picture frames around the house. Ava and Isaiah checked the trap again to find the cereal gone, the piece of gold hidden around the house, and another clue leading them to their next gift. It was behind a door in the house. The searched and found sun catchers and paint in their closets.
We're hoping by Saint Patrick's Day we will finally catch him for good. If not, we may have to try again next year!

At the top I cut a hole in the lid and put a piece of fabric on top. When the leprechaun hops off the ladder to eat the cereal he's suppose to fall through the cloth into the hole. No luck yet! :-)

My Three Happy's:
1) Seeing the kid's excitement when they wake up each morning to see what the leprechaun has done. It's like Christmas at our house again!
2) No rushing in the morning...everything is slow paced and relaxed!
3) The forecast this week...50's and 60's...the bike paths and parks are calling our name!
I am just now looking at this... I LOVE the St. Patty's day activities you guys did!!! I wish I had looked at this BEFORE the 17th. What a cute idea! Bethany would have loved doing this! Hahaah, it really cracks me up. What a great idea!!!!!
