Well...I must admit...last week really flew by me. It's been one week since my last post. I think that's the longest I've gone. Here's what we've been up to...
Last weekend Andy started to close in our play set area because it's basically surrounded by dirt. On Monday evening he pretty much finished it up. It look so nice and it makes such a difference playing on wood chips instead of dirt or mud.

Boxing this area in, for some reason, seems to make our yard look much bigger.
I was playing "Captain Jack Sparrow." I climbed up top and was driving the ship. They were underneath me trying to escape.
On Wednesday evening Ava had ballet class. During class they got to try on their new costumes. The theme for the recital is Romeo and Juliet. They are dancing to a classical song...not sure of the name...and are little "fireflies." This costume also has wings but we don't have that part yet. She was very proud to try it on...here are a few pictures of our little ballerina!
Happy Anniversary Dan and Janet! On Thursday night we were invited to Fuji Steakhouse (Japanese food) to celebrate the anniversary of Dan and Janet. Andy unfortunately had an out of town track meet. This place is so fun! We were there almost two hours! The food is amazing but the entertainment as they cook makes the dining experience so fun. The kids were loving every minute. We've been there a few times before and it always fascinates the kids.

I just had to get this picture. If you Ava you know she's kind of a picky eater...always has been. Imagine that! She loved the Japanese soup that was served first. Isaiah did too!
When they started making the food on the grill and were using fire...I couldn't even get Isaiah to look at me. He loved it!

He didn't even know we love Disney and he made this Micky Mouse head for the kids as he was cooking. He used the various sauces to tint the ears and make the face.
That was a small flame compared to the initial one!
Some of the workers came around with musical instruments. Isaiah played this drum as they sang an Anniversary Song. He played on beat the whole time and of course had his tongue sticking out like Daddy!

Ava wasted no time at all...she loved licking the chocolate. The kids both had some of the ice cream.

Today (Saturday) was an icky day! We did lots of playing inside today! With all the warm weather we've been having, I think Ava and Isaiah forgot about some of the toys down in their toy room. The kids used the "Handwriting Without Tears" sticks to make designs on the floor.

Ava told me she was making a house. Notice the kids are in their pajamas once again! Once the weekend hits...it's hard to get them to put normal clothes on.
Time to dye Easter Eggs. We're going to try to leave at least one for the Easter bunny next week to go along with some carrots. The kids LOVE boiled eggs...or as Ava sometimes calls them "spoiled eggs."

Target sells these fun egg kits. Ava's had glitter and sequins. A few of her eggs were glittered up. In this particular pictures she was adding some "bling" to her pink egg.
Isaiah liked keeping the eggs in the carton.

After naps we headed to Ankeny to eat at Culvers...we've never been there with the kids...as a matter of fact...I don't think I've been there since Ava was born. Ava and Isaiah thought it was fun to have ice cream come along with their kid meal. After that we went to Kohls to shop. We got a 30% off coupon in the mail...when we get those it's fun to buy a few new things. I had already gotten the kids their Easter outfits but found two even cuter ones at Kohls. Ava got a pastel plaid Chaps Ralph Lauren dress (adorable) and we got Isaiah a suit minus the coat. He is going to look so handsome. The pants and vest are a carmel color. The undershirt is a blue color and it comes with a matching tie...we'll see if he wears that.
I've mentioned before that Ava is quite the shopaholic like her mother. We also got some new shoes while we were there. Ava informed us that she really wanted to have the Twinkle Toes shoe made by Sketchers. These are tie shoes that are so colorful and have sparkles and sequins everywhere...and they light up. There were some other "cheaper brands" that were similar and pretty much looked the same as the Sketchers brand. But when we asked her, "Why do you want these shoes?" She told us that a girl in her class has them and that they are "cool to have." Oh no...we're not starting to notice name brands yet are we? Both Ava and Isaiah wore their new shoes home in the car.
What a day!
My Three Happy's:
1) Our Friday movie and pizza night. The kids played for a while and then they watched the entire Alice and Wonderland...they love that movie.
2) We're looking forward to Easter next week...stay tuned for the cute Easter treats and gifts the kids will be giving their friends this year!
3) It's baseball season! Andy is watching the Cubs and Rockies right now on TV. The Ballard baseball field is right up the street from our house. I love hearing the bat crack as it hits a baseball on a summer night.
