The weather was decent...around 70 degrees...and we decided to go to Big Creek (a local beach by Saylorville Lake) for a picnic lunch, to ride bikes, and play in the sand...the kids were only supposed to get their feet wet in the lake...but as you can tell from the pictures belong...it turned into much more than that.
One of my favorite things about being a teacher is the flexibility to do whatever you want during the summer. It's so nice to have nothing holding you back. When I was growing up I always wanted to be a teacher...1st grade in particular...but one of my main reasons for this was because I knew I wanted to eventually be on the same schedule as my kids. I could never imagine myself doing anything else.
Jackson came along with us. You should have seen how excited he was when I said, "Do you want to go for a ride?" He loves car rides. We drove in the van so he could sit up front. I always ride in back because he thinks he's pretty cool riding up front with Andy and he gets to hang his head out the window. What a goof!

Located on the beach is this HUGE play area. Since the weather was an overcast and a bit chilly...even spitting out rain every now and then....there was only one other child there. It was great and the kids loved playing on something new. They thought the tire swing was pretty fun!

Off to a picnic sight...this place has tons of bike trails. The kids LOVE riding their bikes together.
Andy packed the picnic lunch for us. Ava and Isaiah really like eating outside! No one was around so we let Jackson off his leash...he acts so tough...but never tries to run off. He loves his freedom and just being able to lay freely around us.

A little toe dipping turned into full out splashes...we brought swimsuits but thought the water was going to be too cold and left them in the car. It turned out to be pretty nice so we just let them get their clothes wet and sandy.
Dogs aren't allowed on the actual beach so Andy took Jackson over to another area where he could swim. He loves the water and was very happy and tired when we left.

This is a DEFINITE return destination...they loved every minute.
My Three Happys:
1) Isaiah woke me up at 6:15 this morning and said "Mommy, I have to go potty." His diaper was dry and after he went...he fell back asleep until 8:00.
2) The kids are just falling asleep now...it's 9:40...they get this sudden burst of energy after their baths and this is the "moment" where they play together perfectly and get along great. It's so hard to stop them from playing together when they're having such a fun time.
3) Yeah...patio in the works...can't wait!
