Miss Isabelle turns 2!

How awful of an Aunt am I that I'm just now putting Isabelle's birthday pictures up.  The little munchkin turned 2 a few weeks ago and she is as precious as ever!  Julie and Kevin rented out a cute nature lodge at a park in Des Moines.  Isabelle's theme was none other than Disney Princesses!  She was beyond excited to see her friends and family join to celebrate her birthday.  From the yummy Italian food and cake, to the delicious giant cookie and presents...this little princess was in heaven.  She loved every minute and nothing in the world could have taken the smile off her adorable face!

How cute is this cake!

Isabelle, Isaiah, and Ava coloring pictures and drinking juice pouches.  They were waiting for everyone to come in.

Look at this adorable face!

Love the boots Isabelle!  You are so stylish!

Ava dancing on Daddy's feet!

Little Isabelle...she would walk over to the presents to inspect them.  Mr. Isaiah was right along with her.

Lovin' that bread stick!

Me too!

Happy Birthday to You!  She had just blown out the candles and Julie was getting ready to cut into the b-day cookie and cake.

Yum...this girl has a sweet tooth just like her two cousins.

Kevin, Isabelle, and Julie around the cake table.

Isabelle was holding one of the rings that was part of her cake decoration.

Wow!  This cake looks yummy!

This picture is Kevin's side of the family.  Let's see if I can introduce them...if we start in the back left corner, you'll see a guy in a redish sweatshirt.  That's Kevin's brother Dan.  We'll go clockwise from here...Kevin's Dad Mike, his Grandma (Mom's Mom), his Mom Vicki, his Aunt, in the purple is his sister Amy (she's due with a baby soon), and her husband Ray.
Julie and I acting goofy!

Present time!

Ava blowing a party whistle...one prize in her bag of goodies that Isabelle gave all the guests.

Boo is all smiles...he loves Isabelle!  When he's around her this is his chance to act like a big brother.  He's so gentle and kind to her!

**Happy B-day Love...your Uncle, Cousins, and Auntie love you to pieces!**

My Three Happy's
1) Ava loves the story Pete the Cat.  It's a story about a cat who steps into different things that change his shoe color.  It's full of color words and is repetitive so she can read the entire book all by herself and let me tell you...that girl reads with expression!  We have the book on CD that has the actual song/tune that Pete sings.  Ava and Isaiah both love it!  Ava has had this idea the past few days of creating her own version of Pete the Cat.  In this story they only talk about the colors white, red, blue, and brown.  We started working on her version tonight.  She wanted to use the same layout of the story; so far we've written about the colors purple and green.  She wrote most of the words and I helped her sound out and spell some of the harder ones.  As she was coloring the pictures to go along with her writing she said, "I love being an illustrator."  What a turkey!

2) We found this book of activities for children ages PK-K.  It has coloring activities, counting, letter matching/identification, problem solving, etc.  He has really enjoyed working in this book...especially with his Daddy.  The other book he's been loving is one where there is a hidden picture filled with upper and lowercase letters.  For example you might color the uppercase /B/ red and the lowercase /b/ blue.  He was SOOO proud with how well he was coloring in the lines.  Last night he said, "Mommy, I'm taking my time!."

3)  I love looking around the house and seeing the Christmas decorations I have tucked away in what seems like every nook and cranny.  I've taken some pictures and will post those sometime this week.  The one thing we still have to do is cut down our real tree (typically after Thanksgiving so all the needles don't fall off before Christmas) and find somewhere to put my other 9 foot fake tree.
