Disney on Ice...the Best Show We've Ever Seen!

About a two weeks ago my parents took our family and my sister's family to see Disney on Ice.  I'm just now sharing the pictures...I took so many and they took a long time to upload.  By far this was one of the best shows we've ever seen.  We've been to a few Disney Live shows and some Sesame Street Live ones but this one blew them all out of the water.  Since it was on ice they were able to bring so many characters out at the same time...I must say the deck of cards from Alice in Wonderland was one of my favorites.  Hope you enjoy the pictures...we sat right up next to the ice so I was able to take some nice close-ups!

My Three Happy's:
1) My friend Marissa (who I used to teach with at Ballard), her husband, and two kids are coming over tomorrow for pizza and to decorate Christmas cookies.  We love their family!

2) This is a silly one but so true...before dinner I was vacuuming the floor in the family room upstairs and it's SOOOO nice to have it look perfect and clean!  I don't have to look at old white stained carpet anymore!

3) Andy's grandma has been out of the hospital since Monday.  We have been praying for her every night before bed and God answered our prayers.  We're so glad she can be back in her cozy house with her family.

A Birthday in the Eyes of a 5 Year Old

As promised here are some pictures of Ava's birthday along with a slide show from Animoto.  From opening presents in the morning to a  big friend party after school, this was a busy day...good thing Andy didn't have his first class until 10:30 that day...the kids were really running late that day.  They were so excited to play with all the toys, getting dressed and ready to go was the last thing on their mind.

Ava getting ready to open her presents from us in the morning.

Ava and Isaiah at The Playground in Ankeny.  We rented the place out and had 17 of her friends join us for playing, pizza, and cake.  Boy was it busy with kids running and jumping everywhere, but you could tell that everyone was having a blast.

Andy, Isaiah, Ava, and me before the party started

Ava going down one of the big slides.

Ava opening a new Barbie car from Aunt Jody at our family party on Saturday.

Enjoy this slide show from Animoto.  I love the new snow background that they have...it gave the pictures a different tint so they look more black and white.  They don't have Happy Birthday as a song choice so I found a cute Christmas song.

Happy 5th Birthday!

My Three Happy's:
1) Andy cooked dinner tonight...how nice was that! He made lots of different things but my favorite was bow tie alfredo pasta with shrimp...so good!

2) I found my favorite slipper boots buried under a clothes pile in the laundry room...finally I have warm toes!

3) We started making Christmas goodies the other night. So far we've made toffee candy, white chocolate oreo truffles, sugar cookies (not decorated yet), and caramelitas (a type of bar that you cut into little squares). It's only just the beginning!

Happy Birthday Love!

Dear Ava,

You are five today!  Five years old!  When I rewind our life back to the day you were born I remember being so proud to be your Mommy and I know your Daddy was proud too!  Holding you, cuddling you, and kissing your sweet baby face made tears come to my eyes because I remember thinking...you are finally mine!  I still watch those videos of the nights we were in the hospital with you.  I can remember one night that you would not stop crying.  I remember turning on your lullaby CD...the one you still listen to every night, talking to you, holding you close, and slowly rocking you.  Your cries turned to little coos and you fell fast asleep.

You amaze us every day with your stories, your silly jokes, your smile, your caring ways, and just simply being you.  I never could have imagined having a daughter as beautiful both inside and out as you.  You have learned so much and have grown up so much and we couldn't be more proud of you.  We will love you forever, no matter what!  You and your brother are everything to us and we are so blessed to be your Mommy and Daddy!

Happy Birthday Bootles!

My Three Happy's:
1) Celebrating Ava's 5th b-day at the Playground in Ankeny tonight.  Eighteen of Ava's friends were invited to celebrate with us.  Pictures to come...
2) I found out yesterday that our hotel that we were staying at for our upcoming Disney trip in May was upgraded.  We are now staying at the beautiful Caribbean Beach Resort.  This place is gorgeous and has the  neatest pirate pool with cannons.  I showed the kids some pictures of this resort and they loved it! Check it out! http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/caribbean-beach-resort/
3) Tomorrow is Friday...enough said!

Love Forever,
Mommy and Daddy
